STAND UP FOR CHICHESTER!

Chichester is set to change dramatically over the next 10 years
- and not for the good!!

Chichester area is set for a target to deliver 753 homes per year for the next 15 years because Government's aim is to level down the South East by driving down house prices based on a flawed economic model that suggests building more houses will reduce house prices.
This does not acknowledge that due to the three jewels in the environment crown of Chichester – South Downs National Park, the AONB of Chichester Harbour and the Manhood harbours of Pagham & Medmerry, together with the threat of flooding due to climate change and rising sea level, available land is very limited - just 30%. The impact on the delicate eco system means very serious environmental degradation - or to put it bluntly, environmental extinction.
Investment in major road infrastructure has been abysmal - and no prospect of significant funding for the A27 means roads being continually jammed and air quality falling to a dangerously low level.
Sewage treatment capacity is inadequate with 100 raw discharges in Chichester Harbour last year, questionable water supply in a water stressed area with growing demand, and as yet there is no solution to nitrate run-off, which will suffocate our Harbours.
We need you to join us and
STAND UP FOR CHICHESTER
by asking Chichester District Council (CDC) and Government to
HALT ALL MAJOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
until:
There is significant investment in our roads structure and the A27.
An adequate sewerage infrastructure.
Answer to the nitrates run-off in the Harbour
